Photographs:

I work from your photographs. It is helpful if you can send me a selection of photos to choose from (between 2 and 8 photos is ideal). This gives me a better idea of what your pet looks like. The better the photos, the better your finished portrait will be!!! I can work from digital and Non-digital photos.

I have found that patience is definitely a virtue when photographing your pet. You may like to get a photo of them in their favourite spot, this way they will look happy and relaxed. Try and take the photo in good light but not direct, bright sunlight so they are squinting their eyes. Sat near a window indoors or outside on a cloudy day is always good.

I am happy to draw your pet in their favourite pose if you can get a good photo. For example my Boxer 'Archie' likes to lay on his bed with his head on his paws (see below) It makes an interesting portrait and captures your pets character.

It may help to have someone else to hold your pet while you are taking the photo. It doesn't matter if they get in the photo I can draw them out of the portrait as long as they don't cover up any important markings or features of your pet.

Always try and get down to your pets level when taking a photo, so you aren't looking down on them too much.

If you are able to take some photos specifically for me to draw from then try to get a good close up of your pet.

I can work from black and white photos.

If you would like two or more animals in one portrait it is best to photograph them separately, its very hard to get them all facing the same way etc! However, it helps for me to see at least one photograph of them all together (it doesn't have to be a good one) just so I can see how they compare in size to each other. If this isn't possible (if they have passed away) a brief description will be great eg: which pet was the tallest, largest head etc.

If you aren't sure if your photos are suitable for a portrait then please feel free to send them to me anyway, I can take a look (all will be well cared for and returned)

If your pet has sadly passed away and you don't have many good photos, please feel free to send them to me so I can have a look. Remember there is no obligation to buy the finished portrait unless you are completely happy with it!

You can send your photos to me in the post , by E-mail or on a disk

If you are posting photos (all will be returned) Please send them via international 'Signed for' delivery if they are valuable or irreplaceable.

Address to post your photographs to:

You can E-mail photos to me, Please use a fairly high resolution so they are nice and clear. It may help to send them 1or 2 at a time if they are large.

Or You can send me your photos on a CD (I will return it to you)
