| David
was found when he was approximately 5 years old in the Tanjung Puting
National Park, Central Indonesian Borneo. He was discovered alone with many deep machete cuts and gun pellets imbedded in his arms and legs, looking very helpless. Rescuers feel that farmers killed his mother, thus, he was very lucky to survive! David was taken to the Orangutan Care Centre, within the park, where he gradually recovered. Now six years old, he is ‘close friends’ with another orphan named Darwin. They spend much of their time play fighting together. |
